P.I.C. Jacketing Systems
Plastic jacketing systems offer unsurpassed ultraviolet protection and
weatherproofing for thermally insulated pipelines, tanks, vessels and other
vital plant equipment. P.I.C. plastics have distinct characteristics that are
ideally suited for pipe insulation jacketing in commercial and industrial plants
such as chemical, petro-chemical, petroleum, food, beverage, water, wastewater,
pulp/paper, marine, power generating, pharmaceutical and general manufacturing
P.I.C.’s lightweight and preformed shapes make the jacketing easy to handle
and install, even from ladders, scaffolds or stairways. It’s also easy to cut
or shear by hand for easy field fitting and reduced installation
cost.
Protection
P.I.C. white jacketing resists ultraviolet rays and weathering, maintaining its
integrity even in adverse environments that would cause other systems to fail.
It has a natural, bright, attractive finish that enhances any installation. The
clean, smooth surface also tends to shed dust and dirt.
Strength
The high strength, toughness and ductility of the jacketing materials result
in a higher degree of resistance to denting, tearing or cracking caused by physical
and mechanical abuse. Several thicknesses are available to offer a variety of strength
levels for varying service loads.
Integrity
The excellent resistance of P.I.C. jacketing to corrosion and abrasion provides
reduced costs through long life and little required maintenance. It has excellent
low-flame-spread qualities, does not support combustion and can be hermetically
sealed by applying P.I.C.'s welding adhesive.
Colors
P.I.C. colored jacketing is specially designed for indoor applications, where
color-coding must meet certain standards. P.I.C. colors
conform to ASTM/ANSI/OSHA specifications.
